Can minotaurs get a minotaur speech translator? Meaning they don't get the garble? I think it makes sense that minotaurs do not hear their 'accent'. On the other board, people posted they even had problems when speaking to mino immortal because they couldn't understand each other.

When I was around minotaurs relatively often a few months ago, I had a little trouble understanding them at first, but it quickly becomes quite easy. When an entire race has the same speech impediment, it isn't that hard to get used to. If you play a minotaur often, and especially if you converse with other minotaurs, I doubt you'll have much trouble understanding each other.

That is, unless the way they speak has changed since then.

It's not an accent. Their mouths aren't well suited for language. Thus, minotaur-to-minotaur communication isn't easier than minotaur-to-other.

In that case, they ought to have their own language suited for their mouths, and be able to understand that one perfectly

It's probably preferrable for minotaurs to be able to understand each other in 'common' though, since you don't have the concept of racial languages implemented.

Anyway, it doesn't make much sense that a fairly intelligent race shouldn't be able to communicate with each other perfectly - if not by speaking perfectly, then at least by knowing what it the means when another minotaur speaks gibberish. One must assume that minotaurs would be used to hearing their own kind of speak, and therefore have no problem understanding it.

If you haven't had the opportunity to play a minotaur, it's a lot like being drunk. You "hear" yourself speaking as if you were the best speaker in the world. It's the rest of the room that has the challenge of understanding you. If you could hear your own "accent" or impediment, you'd have a better chance of understanding someone else with the same accent. But in this case, you can imagine that minotaur ears are not capable of picking up many subtleties about pronunciation even as their mouths are not capable of producing them. And so they don't have an easy time understanding one another, either.

How about giving imms speaking lessons then, apparently, they don't have translators. Can get a bit uncomfortable.

Perhaps they should get less mumbled words, because people with similar speech have usually have easier to understand eachother than someone who does not.
