You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

I think it would be nice if a char that has just died would start with 10% or 20% hp and mana. Ghosts cannot affect other players, so I don't see this causing any abusable problems. Ghosts tend to be in a hurry to their corpses, which can cause a char to die to picking up a damaging item from his corpse, or die of other causes just because a newly died ghost is super-fragile. So, by giving them more hp and mana after death the game could alleviate a situation that can be quite frustrating.

It's a risk you take for not, at the very least, sleeping for
a tick before doing anything else. My .01.

Edit: I'm not closed off to the idea though.
