I posted in the bug board some situations where invoker spells are hitting cabal guardians, cabalmates,pets,etc.

Right now I have the option to get civic elementalist, it is quite tempting as it increases my repertoire of spells that I can do within the cities. But I obviously can't experiment to see if the problems I mentioned in the bugboard will still happen in the city if I take the edge.

Are there some assurances that I won't end up getting the boot from the cabal because of a bug with the edge and invoker spells from trusting that the spells will behave like they should?

If there can't be a 100% assurance I would probably rather look at other options for edges that are also good.
