I was just hit with the notion that if you get into a fight with a person, and an assisting person tries to bash you and fails (putting them in the sitting or resting position, if I recall correctly), other than being on their bum in the dirt, that person gets no penalty to their attacks. If this is misinformation, just say so.

Anyway, if it is not misinformation could that be changed? I don't see how someone could be attacking if they just tried to bash someone from the side and landed on their face. For at least a round that person's attacks should be stopped. I could see them returning to the battle during the failed bash lag, however, which would result in a gradual return of attack frequency and strength.

Also, this could be used as a weapon, so to speak. A thief using "push" could cause a real problem for someone who is hiding behind another and trying to bash another. Also, someone who is getting ganged could try to do something to put the offender into that position, such as a crushing blow.

Just something to toss around...I'm not sure I worded it very well.
