DIG AT MASTERS TOWER was the full solution.

The two stars from "LAMENTABLE MACHO FUR" are T and S and from my deductions, and that "NUMBER OF" if part of the anagram to 2 down, I claim the answer to 2 down is twentysix, thirtysix, fourtysix, eightysix or ninetysix. Take your pick. I can't work out the entire anagram.
