You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#63994, "Shifter diversification"

There are s few forms at hero that bug me because they simply are not that different from each other and generally not appealing in their own right.

Lemur/mongoose

I recommend giving one of them an attack that can be defended against triggered by dodge (rebounding strike anywhere). And the other something like dervish dance and mercy legacy. This would up their stock especially in group battles where they can distract and be a problem. I don't think their native damage output is enough to suddenly make them very offensive.

Bat/owl

Deafen/bite vs peck/sneak is a difference but in general air forms seem pretty similar. Maybe nuke the owl and bring whatever that form is with camp/ambush/feint up to top tier?

A great horned owl flaps his wings fiercely for a moment and flies up out of sight.

A great horned owl's orbital nuke does UNSPEAKABLE things to you!
You have been KILLED!!

You have died, but the Carrion Fields are not finished with you yet!
Your soul is returned to the realms in the form of a ghost.
You will return to your corporeal state in a short while.
Be careful, for even a ghost should fear some dangers!

A great horned owl tells you, 'It was the only way to be sure.'

Damage cap makes this impossible. Maximum nuke damage is about 930 hp with vuln.
