Our disk filled up and we hung until there was enough available space for the MUD to write files again.

A bigger hard drive wouldn't have prevented this.

We do what we can with the resources we have, and that applies to more than just our hardware.

We use this at work:

Not sure what you get with the "free" version, but it may include their "alerts" feature. You set CPU / Memory usage / Disk IO / Disk Capacity thresholds and it alerts you when the server exceeds them.
