If I'm playing for a couple hours in a moon phase and its about to switch over. Should I collect herbs for the current phase or for the phase its about to switch over to?

To ask it another way, if I collect herbs in a phase they favor and the moon phase switches, do those already collected herbs become weaker or do they go off when they were grabbed?

Sorry to be confusing: Thats the question, do collected herbs go off the phase when gathered or whatever phase it is currently in relation to the herbs?
