You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#56294, "Dirty fighting vs Masochism for running away"

I know this has been discussed before, but..

Unless I'm missing something masochism seems to be the superior of these two skills for a desperate escape. It doesn't matter how well the skrugga flees if he's permalagged.

The helpfile for dirty fighting says that a skrugga is particularly known for landing an extra strike that helps them escape - is this like a reverse parting blow?

Possible to add a feature to improved flee/masochism that makes it so an orc with less than say 35% health can clear lag and execute a wimpy when they are hit? That way skrugga may be able to compete with shigru at what they are thematically good at - running away.

When I played Skrugga I vaguely recall jabbing someone's eyes when fleeing, meaning they couldn't reengage. Plus you flee two rooms. Also cower is a decent defense against someone that's trying to lag you out.
