In the world of PK edge points, does an "assist" count as a "PKwin"?

Ergo, if I land 5 assists between lvls 11-25 is that "as good" as landing 5 killing blows edge point wise?

From what I've been told and my own experiences, landing any number of assists doesn't get you anything in the way of edge points.

And since I don't know who plays who! I have no idea if this guy was credible or not! He "seemed" to know what he was doing, hence my question haha.

This is correct.

As a side note, the level range PK bonuses are very small.
