I've been playing since the mid-90s, but never really been a top-tier player, either in terms of RP or PK. I love the game, though. Always have, likely always will.

I've often wondered if anyone has any idea how many immortals have left due to certain players' negativity and finger-pointing? How many players have left because of real or perceived imm "cheating"?

More importantly, how many new players has the game never had a chance to win over because they've checked the forums first? To me, this is the saddest and most damaging turnover. I think attrition of old players and imms is to be expected, but I also think it's pretty obvious we're not pulling in much new blood. I can't help but think the "every third thread" whining is a major factor in that.

I kinda agree with Lhydia, threads drawing attention to negativity from 2-3 people are just as bad as the drama from 2-3 people. I think if you want to fight negativity on the forums start threads about fun game related stuff to discuss, be it mechanics or RP and steer people away from drama rather than drawing more attention to it.

You can't beat negativity with more negativity you beat it by drowning it in positive stuff.

I promise you, god's honest truth (and I'm a bit drunk saying this so my apologies) my chars do what they can to make the game fun for everyone and I strongly encourage others to follow suit.

There are definitely people that care but we try to show we care we care in game.
