You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

Putting Oshui aside,

Couple questions:

1) Does anyone who can recall what happened with that crack in front of Fortress care to recap the gist of the storyline for that quest as a baseline discussion? I feel it's vitally important to the state of the terrain in front of the Fortress today and for the subsequent thoughts in the rest of this post.

2) Is anyone in Scion currently capable and sufficiently motivated to investigate and re-open that crack to take a peek to see how those wasps underneath are doing and permanently corrupt the wilderness in those rooms and near Prosimy as a bonus experiment?

3) Can we, after all is said and done, admit that the Watcher either paves civilized roads all the way throughout that mountain to the Ruins of Delar-Tol and/or experimentally change all the terrain involved to mountain/forest trails or some combination thereof to at the very least remove the unrestricted use of shapeshifter and Outlander classes as scouts and unavoidable ambushes?

4) Can we tentatively introduce some either excessively low or excessively high damage (*** devastate/oblit e.g. level 50 or 60 fireball or triple level 30-40 fireball) pills that people can use to fireball themselves (and only themselves but still set the room on fire) and the surrounding rooms regardless of class to resolve this issue? Rangers do not have to deal with fire anywhere near as often as they probably otherwise should and druids can render it moot anyway. It is also too easy to spread in cities and too difficult to spread in forests, before taking rainy weather into account (and CF's weather system is not condusive to drought style weather without noxious cloud being involved).

I also think that we can implement matches or flint/steel to intentionally set fires without using magic. If you want to create a cost for this so that people can't just go to the butthole of a given forest, use it and then return in 20 minutes, create an area echo with a dark crimson color for using either item to start fires and have it decay after 1-3 uses and be relatively expensive (2-5 gold each borrowing the code for the fancy items in Voralian City) Another idea is implementing some kind of low level noxious cloud talisman (specifically a talisman to remove easy access from anti-paladins)
