You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#46476, "Bribe Mercenary"

Does this only work on purchased mercenaries? Special guards? Non-conjurer elementals? Any druid charmies? Enslaved...I don't know...enormous giants with polearms following an orc?

Mercenaries are a thing of the past now that everyone IMM wise is so anti-looting. This skill was useful when mercenaries were useful. Now its a waste.

#46485, "Any knowledgeable answers out there?"
In response to Reply #1

Elementals/druid charmies are a stretch, that's obvious.

Orc slaves and guards are not, and I'm looking for someone with a more informed answer than just telling me to 'think about it' when they have no clue how it works. People make assumptions about game mechanics all the time and are wrong often.

Any imms or players who have had it willing to chime in?
