You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

'FEARLESS ABANDON'
An anti-paladin often finds himself faced with a variety of enemies that
strike him instinctively, even near-instantly. There can be no evading such an attack, and the anti-paladin has learned to tame their fears and focus on striking back as the attack comes.

Sounds like this edge would work against eyes of flame and archons/angels autoattacking, but the helpfile only mentions bloodthirst. Is there anyone here who can say if that is the case?

Bored at work, started project read all edge helpfiles

It's good for several forms of stuff auto-attacking you, including some I don't think have been listed below yet.

I bet it was a typo and should be bloodlust.

I'd bet bloodthirst is one of the abilities it helps against. Doesn't bloodthirst = auto attack?

For instance:

'HARVESTER OF WOE' (1811)

Calling upon the weakness-exploiting techniques of the barbed devils, an anti-
paladin with this edge may cast ever-stronger offensive spells against enemies
who are wounded or near death.

See also: PLAGUE, 'ENERGY DRAIN', EDGES

In this case, bloodthirst is reference, but is obviously a typo and meant to be bloodlust. Meaning you need bloodlust at a certain % to get reckless abandon edge. Sort of like you need plague and energy drain to get harvester of woe edge.
