You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#45476, "Talking about who I had played got me nostalgic for the old days, so I read some of my old posts. "

I'd like to offer something of a blanket apology for the way some of my old posts came off. I was reading a few old threads, and it's almost like I'm reading someone elses writing. I mean, yeah I still stand by the majority of the opinions expressed and the positions I took on things that happened in game, but I am a bit embarrassed by the vitriol some of my postings contained. Thinking I am right is no excuse for absolutely tearing into someone just for having a different opinion about something. Sometimes being/feeling I am right is no reason to go from zero to douche in .5 seconds. I realize I've not always been the most popular guy, especially with the staff, and I also realize I brought a lot of that on myself with the tone of my posts.

It's easy to lose perspective about things you care about. I'm not someone who makes throw away characters, and each and every character I've had, has had a well fleshed out role that was absolutely adhered to at all times. Each of my characters was a labor of love for me, and I was easily angered by other people not seeing that, and at times it meant I didn't take criticism very well. At times I lost sight of other peoples feelings, and that was uncool of me. There were better ways to make my point, and I should have taken the high road a bit more, especially where the staff is concerned. If my characters were labors of love for me, I can't imagine how much moreso the entire game must be for the imms.
