I posted this a while back on dios when I first reached level 30. No one there seemed 100% certain and after hours of using the skill I'm still unsure about it myself. Could you guys please fill in some of the blanks so we can better understand this awesome skill?

What triggers backfist? A successful parry, dodge, or does it randomly fire on its own?

Beyond the obvious (skill %), is there anything that can be done to make it trigger more often? Is it dex based?

Will it fire more often with two free hands?

Will it fire more with a free dual wield, or a free main and holding a shield?

It needs a successful parry.

As long as you have a free hand, you're in business. It doesn't matter what that free hand is, I don't think.

There may be a dex component; I can't remember that for 100% sure either way. It's a pretty simple skill and dex (if applicable) and skill is about all there is.
