You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Poll - Which mud client do you use and for which operating system?

Question - I've been using zmud5x for several years on a Windows XP machine. Just bought a new imac and short of using virtualization it will be time to find something new. Suggestions?

If you're used to zmud you'll want to do one thing...

#config {repeat enter} on

Makes it so that you just hit the enter key repeatedly to repeat the last command = no "!" necessary. Makes the UI pretty much like Zmud from my perspective.

I use tintin also. Never knew of that command.
How do I save my script for next login or do I have to
copy paste it from somewhere each time?

Didn't like it at first but once I got used to it I like being able to move stuff around and organize all that in the .txt.

When I play a war, per say.

I see a guy I am going to fight and set up this alias
#alias jj bash newbie

His groupmate comes along
#alias kk bash groupie

How can script it so jj = bash target, kk = murder target
with just having to enter #target = newbie or whatever?

I suck at scripting and Did not understand the helpfiles

Already told you what I do, but for the sake of completeness...

Home: yTin on XP on a PC.

Work: yTin on XP running inside Virtual Box (on a Mac).

I prefer Parallels to Virtual Box, but the latter is free.
