I actually did originally conceive of it as a quest skill I might someday hand out.
Once you buy into the idea that most adventurers portage a boat of some kind with them everywhere they go, hitting someone with that boat almost seems logical.

Canoewhack is basically when you smack someone (generally a heroimm) with a very large water going vessel. Bigger the better.
Usually results in an Unspeak that kills the poor little heroimm.
You too can get canoewhack- beginning at level 53.

Role + Tiny the Mariner was a very strong, very dedicated fisherman.
Role + One day all the fish in his area were killed by mages.
Role + Now he and his fishing boat, Tuggah, go around killing them.
Role + He forsakes all weapons, instead using only Tuggah as his weapon
Role + so as to teach the mages what they took from him.
Role add.
