You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

If you have a form that has peek, can you peek a mob that would have your sleek and see it - or do you need to kill that mob for your sleek to show up?

It's to prevent mages from dragging thieves around with them to get easy wands.

(imo, we should be encouraging teamwork, instead of finding new ways to nerf thieves, but I understand why it is the way it is.)

Nah, it just kind of made sense to code it that way for other reasons. I don't think we were even thinking about thieves.

In that case... are the other reasons by any chance important enough that we couldn't change some locations to work with peek/steal?

There's no such thing as an overpowered explore thief - I'm all for throwing them bones whenever possible.

Also I'm going to use this opportunity to point out that raccoon is spelled incorrectly when it comes to the shapeshifter form. The NPC mobs are spelled correctly as raccoon but shifter form is spelled racoon. Don't know if this is intentional or not.
