You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#33313, "A big change to raiding"

I always feel like raiding any cabal happens too easily. Taking powers from a cabal should be a major undertaking, and dangerous even with no defenders. What currently often happens is one cabal will be completely absent and as few as one person will go and raid while no enemies are logged on. I would propose a small gauntlet area sort of like the quest areas for the new ancient dragons. Maybe ancient spirits of past cabal heroes rise up to fight invaders, I don't know. The raiders would have to get through and survive this, which should not be easy, just to get to the inner to raid. Maybe there could even be gear on the mobs in these new mini areas. I would just like raids to be a major undertaking, instead of a wait until no one is on and one man raids model. Maybe there could even be mini raids, where you don't get the whole enchilada, but you are able to take away one power. One mini item for each power, and a big item representing all powers.

Retrieval Would still be an easily reachable mob, that is no harder to kill that it currently is.
