#2841, "Hypothesis about Tribunal..."

It is my general belief (MIGHT be wrong, but doubt it) that there have been quite a few more Vindicators...and people who are trying to become vindicators, than there has been Justiciars.

My hypothesis is that this is because Vindicators are known to get those special manacles which are supper powerful. And Justiciars just get some sort of minor, weak, healing ability that has just about no use in their job of going out and bringing criminals to justice.

Now, I might be wrong about the powers, but I do believe that the above is the general perception. Which I think is the reason why few people try to become good justiciars, relative to those who try to go for Vindicator.

I personally would like to see both vindies and justiciars get that same manacles power (if it isn't already like that) or...at least powers that are equally useful in the pursuit and defeat of criminals

There are thoughts in process to further define both the Vindicators and Justiciars. As they currently stand, they have poorly defined roles

Due to the roles of Vindicators and Justiciars, I feel its more likely for people to try for Vindicator. I tried before I knew what powers vindicators got and only tried once since, when I wasn't even in the cabal (I'm weird like that). Likewise, the numbers on each are pretty similar, 4 vindicators and almost as many Justiciars. In my opinion this is because Justiciar is a less complicated position to figure out and an easier position to keep, Vindicator is harder to get and much easier to lose. This to me smacks of balancing, and thus, I have given it the Boldereth Seal of Approval(tm).

Having been Justiciar I would have to say I disagree that it's easier to get and harder to lose. A justiciar's job is far more complex than a Vindicator's, but neither less nor more difficult. As for powers Justs have powers that are appropriate to their role as do Vinds. Justs can still manacle people anywhere.

There haven't been very many of either, so to assume one is more powerful than the other is an unfair assumption.

There have been MANY more Vindies.. many more.. ratiowise. I don't have an exact number for you, i'd venture to say 75% Vindie, 25% Juc..

I agree with Permanewbie, give the shackles to both.

my 2 cents

5 Justiciars, 4 Vindicators unless Alysrith's compilation was wrong.
