You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#2307, "Old com vs new via weapon"

Since priests now have afflict, instead of the cause light, etc... There is a quest weapon that causes light, perhaps since the change for shamans is in effect, putting the same into the weapon? Then just have its causes level based on how long you keep it.. seem sensible or not worth the work?

The power is coming from the weapon, not you.

I just figured text wise, not where it came from since you changed to priest text commune might as well change the others eh? Just seems more flavoring and for those x'shamans and soon to be shaman players to have that bit of ketchup on the egges instead of the cold crispy bacon.. ah well, thanks anyhow, keep up the good work!

The echoes and flavor for Afflict and Mend Wounds imply that the person using the commune is a priest. They won't be found on items.
