I was looking at the new necromancer spells and a few changes to the old ones and I began thinking. I really like this idea of tinkering with your golems and stuff. It gives neccies a little more depth it does. But here is the problem, first of bodyparts are hard to come by, pc bodyparts anyway second of all if you already have a golem the body part is wasted. So here is my suggestion:

First all change gravesight around a bit. Nothing crazy just add another option to the types of gravesight for uhm remains? Would go something like this:

c gravesight remains
You close your eyes, lower your head, and extend your hands.
the arm of Manami in The Bakery, which has almost decayed
the head of Lerian in A Dining Hall, which still seems fresh

Well you guys get the general idea.
Anyway another thing that might be worth looking into is a stitch command. So if you already have a golem you can take the said bodypart and stitch it to your creations. Would like to see stitch command implemented and extended to zombies and greater undead too. But that might have game balance problems. Still just a couple of ideas. Make of them what you will

When people were discussing my original proposal for this, the consensus on staff was that necromancers were already quite powerful. We liked the concept enough to go ahead with it, but it is intentional that it is somewhat difficult to further enhance your undead minions.

As for finding body parts, I've found that when there is a body part, a corpse is right beside it, so gravesight should do right nicely for finding them.

And as for golems, if ya manage to get your hands on a few body parts, why not just make another golem? It's a difficult spell to master so the more learning the better. Also probably why you can embalm things so all your lovely body parts don't decay away before your new and emproved golem gets here.

When I played Paramox I assumed this was to prevent it becoming too easy to have souped up golems. I did get a few body parts into mine, from kills I made myself. It seems to me that this is a fair enough way to do it, rather than -always- be able to take other people's body parts (from other people's kills).

I don't really see a problem with using other people's, but I'm just not convinced that being able to locate them is a good idea.

If I remember correctly though, gravesight can already be used to locate bodyparts, just not in one step.

And the reason it's split up is fairly simple. PKers sometimes use body parts and corpses to keep track of who's ranking where, so they can more easily find their targets. If it was combined, necromancers could hunt PCs that much easier.
