- When dealing with Centurions, until you can handle them on your own (which often takes very long in my case), they often lead to a gruesome death with a big experience penalty. Especially when most of the time they are hooded mobs. Being the Empire, it usually means you're full looted as well, but annoying as it is, the experience loss bothers me far more, because you need far more time to recover from that. Particularly when you were close to a new level.
Ofcourse, you could just pay them, but 95% of the time I play characters who would rather die than pay anything, even when it's the easy way out so that's not an option. Walking around them the whole time is not something I enjoy either. I spend enough (too much?) time resting to recover moves without taking the long route.
- The same for Tribunals. Their guards are generally hooded as well for a large part of your (my) character's life, so fighting them usually means death. Particularly when you have just become wanted and were in a PK. Again that usually means a full loot coupled with a heavy exp loss.
Still I usually manage to avoid Tribunals in town, but that still leaves a gazilion amount of orderly mobs that attack you on sight, even when sometimes it's not logical. Think goodies attacking goodies, but more importantly, woodland minded creatures. Tribunal law is basically tied to cities. Why would some forest guy be concerned about you being wanted in the cities? It's city law, not his. Perhaps he hates the cities, which would mean he'd applaud you for being wanted.
All these Orderly mobs make it easily abused in PK. That's a good thing, but not if it end in an exp loss, and (for me) it virtually always ends in a death + exp penalty.
It's like the old discusion of Orderly does not equal Lawful. Apparently in this case it does.
- To sum up, it's very bad for how I (and I doubt I'm alone with this) experience the game. Fighting the Empire should be fun, caballed or not. Being Wanted your entire life should be fun. Yes, challenging and probably difficult, but possible. Not just at 30+ level, but from day one. Right now, in my opinion fighting/dealing with Empire/Tribunal is a serious chore that quickly drains all the fun out of the game. Which means I have to take drastic measures to avoid it. Which in my opinion is wrong. It should be fun to deal with it, not a disencouragement. "What is mind, don't matter. What is matter, nevermind!" - Homer J. Simpson.
