I need you to put this silly notion to rest for me. I want to ask you directly because of what you told me about not understanding Tune.
I've been told in the past that I don't know what tune does by you. But I know that I personally have a solid understanding of the bard class's weaknesses and not quite as strong an understanding of their strengths relative to any repertoire but Tragic.
There's been too many people looking at bard edges and then deciding neo-bards are overpowered, who have only heroed at best two bards since the damn edges went in. I find that hard to believe that two months of CF gameplay, only half of which the concept of edges themselves have even existed, is enough time to judge an admittedly very survivable class as an 'overpowered' PK machine. It's like saying healers are overpowered PK machines because they're nigh impossible to kill unless the healer ####s up.
So do you mind listing some definitive weaknesses and strengths to the bard class relative to:
Warriors Invokers Paladins Anti-Paladins Shamen Neo-Rangers
I know they are obvious off the bat and that many of their most glaring weaknesses can be avoided by going Outlander (but chameleon does that for alot of classes), apparently they aren't obvious to people drooling over the new bard edges that fail to understand the same crap works on bards now that did two years ago just as well despite the new armor changes and edges and repertoires and such. They assume Symphonic Echoes is making them unkillable and that their opponents will never have damage reduction or heat/cold resistance and immunities.
And yes this is speaking with the caveat that gaps in player skill and dumb luck can cause fights to go either way. People have given me fights beating a rather heavily doped up Nysrogh as an example of bards being overpowered, pre-edges.
Also would you mind comparing the resist mental effect to deafen as well as svs spell to svs mental? I'm not looking for number crunching but a little bit of relative effectiveness and why these effects neither crush bards (except for deafen) but neither are they completely useless against them either.
