I'm not sure what is used to decide whether a limited item can be placed in a cabal pit, but some of the items that come into play make those restrictions seem counterintuitive. For instance, I can't put arborian chainmail into a cabal pit, but I can put a black hammer pendant in one.

That seems odd.
