You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Quite a difference, why?

Cabdru Hit Points 1019 Mana 758
Greddarh Hit Points 799 Mana 575

Are those numbers naked? Cabdru may have dumped some trains into hp after his int got bumped up, since he didn't have to spend as many pracs on skills/spells. But that couldn't account for a 200hp difference. Neither could the RNG.

A quick glance at the code would seem to say no. I'll have to ask Zulg why that is or what I'm missing if not.

Greddarh's would seem to be naked when you look at the score sheet his carry is 1/34, while Cabdru's is 11/36 which I would presume would indicate he has some gear on that is augmenting his stats.

When I've used PBFs in the past to get an idea of average hero HP/Mana for different combos I exclude all score sheets that do not have a carry of 1/xx as these tend to have values that seem out of line with what I would expect.

Obviously I cannot look into the code so this is just guess work but it is what I've noticed having done some comparisons of this nature before.

Also, there are quests you can do to boost hp, last I checked.

You are correct, that no, those numbers are not naked. If you see folks with 1/34 or 0/34, it usually means they deleted after a death

Poking through Cabdru's old pfile, he was definitely wearing some gear that had +HP on it, but I'm too lazy to figure out what has naked HP were.

As for "why that is"...uhm...because? Probably the simplest solution to the problem. There is no reason I can recall.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
