Okay, one of the big reasons I don't play orcs is because of the hometown business. Not only is it the only option for hometown but it's one of the only places to practice for orcs. I know that there are generic practice places throughout the mud but it's still kind of a pain in the ass.

Suggestion: Give orcs some form of word of recall. Maybe not a spell, but some kind of skill or "power" that takes them back to the village. I think this would be a possitive change. And please refrain from snarky comments that tell me about potions and how one can quaff them to get back.

Actually, there are somewhere around half a dozen specific-to-orc practice places scattered around Thera.
