#12621, "Pointless Armor"


          

I always wondered what the point of certain armor was that crumbles less than 5 game minutes after it leaves the mob (dont wanna say names until I know it's okay, but a certain guy in Dagdan) or disappears completely once it's disarmed or once the mob is killed (a certain guy in Hillcrest). I always wondered if thing slike this were by design or whether it was something overlooked in code or a glitch or something

What are the items and mobs in question? I'll take a look at them and see if it is something overlooked or on purpose.

There's a lot of them I've come across but only a few I can think of off the top of my head. Barim Evir (that his name? - the mayor of Dagdan). His armor crumbles damned quick. The Goblin Render from Hillcrest carried by the lieutenant disappears, as does the key held by the innkeeper in old galadon once you disarm/kill him. Those are the only three I can think of off the top

The eq from the dwarven berserker who stands next to the dwarf with the mark of the holy dwarven crusader all crumbles in a couple of ticks except the breastplate.

And as an aside any chance of making that door to gird un-passable because as a ghost any goodie dwarf can just run in and grab said overpowered pendant and run out with zero risk.

On the same note, there is a certain axe that I once worked for a while to the mob that held it, only to try and pick it up and get the message that it was too for me to lift. Was very frustrating...

Damn I'm on crack today. But i killed the mob, and the axe was too heavy for me to pick up... I removed everything I had, and tried to pick it up and no go... I was 23 str race, oh well...

Example, blademaster's sword rots, but he has it to perform specs and to be a general nuiscance. On the other hands, it also insures that the mob can always have the sword, without it being an unlimited source of high avg norem swords.
