You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#10608, "Healers and bleeding wounds..."

You would think healers could staunch bleeding wounds, at least to reduce them in severity... I mean.. if any class could, right?

Yes yes, I know what healing sleep does. =P But.. I mean seriously. =P

Staunch, giving varying results from slowing bleeding (reducing severity), to quashing it entirely, dependant on skill, level of healer, level of the inflictor of the bleeding wound (ie coming from a sword would be sword, coming from a dragon bite would be the dragon).

I mean, if you get assess, why not staunch? Make it a skill, with a moderate delay. Make it so that once you've tried to staunch a wound you can't try again on the same wound. Make it in that ugly period somewhere between 20 and 25. And if the stupid person with the bleeding wound decides to fight again before it's fully healed, have it have a chance to reopen.

Or not. I mean, how many people would have the opportunity to get really good at this?

But it's a thought.
