How does this skill work when orcs aren't directly fighting the target?

When an orc does fight the target, they can crushingassault for the duration of the fight, however when the orc is assisting, he can crushingassault every two rounds, leading me to believe the effect lasts less than two rounds.

Any insight from those in-the-know?
