It's not like we did druid forms the way they are on accident. They're supposed to work different from a shifter's forms and I think they do.
I'm not saying no, exactly, (although I like them the way they are), but I think we'd need to see some actual justification for why undoing something we did on purpose would make the game better.

#672, "Idea to make CF druids more unique"

How about giving a bit of randomness to the class that would reflect some of the inherent chaos in the natural world?
What I mean is, what if Druids, at level 40'ish, could randomly get a form.
Now, to put a twist o' lime on it, how about allowing them the option of whether they want to be able to call upon their form by either the power of the sun or the moon? Meaning, no more herb-fuel for their forms, but they can only assume them during their time slot.
I think that, if implemented with a bit of flaire, this could lead to more customization/pathing with the class (and everyone enjoys that!)
Oh, and one last thing: How's about leaving the more "mundane" forms to non-quest-form shifters and making these druid forms more like mythical creatures? I'm not saying they should be able to turn into dragons n' stuff...maybe more like an Ent or somethin'.
Oh man this gives me so many off-shoot ideas.

Is it the fact they can commune in form or is there more to it. And it sounds like it's purely the commune in form. I agree with Daevryn, that was an intentional design of the forms at the time and something that makes it very different from being a shapeshifter.
I'd be very disappointed to remove that and just leave them basically the same as a shapeshifter form. We have an entire class dedicated to that already. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
