You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#437, "Wood-elves"

WOod-elves allowed to become shapeshifters.

They are intelligent, wise, and have affinity for nature. Why wouldnt they make good forest/shaman type shapeshifters?

Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man.

Wood-elves prefer nature over magic and generally find themselves feeling out of place in cities and towns.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

What does feeling out of place in cities and towns have to do with not being able to take the form of animals?

Of any race, wood-elves would make the most sense running through woods, shifting in and out of the forms of animals as they stalk their prey.

No need to respond.

Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man.

I suppose I should have chopped the line from the helpfile down to the subject. Shapeshifting into any sort of animal is by no means natural.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
