You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#318, "Felar boost"

Felar have been a mid-running race for as long as I can remember.

One thing that would seem to fit the evolution of the species is a shifting stat in either strength or intelligence. Yes, this is a little bit like humans, but the point allowance could be +2 in one or the other, being appropriate to their class.

Why? Well, I just think that a race that was manipulated in a lab what...hundreds of thousands of years ago...? would be able to surpass its initial limitations (we humans sure did). The ability for felar to choose AP's as a class, and NOW shapeshifters seems to indicate that I'm not the only one who thinks so.

It just makes sense that a felar AP would be 2 int points smarter, a fighting class felar to be 2 str points stronger, and a felar AP to be a combination.

Just a thought.

The evolution of the species? No other species has really evolved, and I don't see a reason to change felars. This is similar to why we don't just keep adding more and more races to the game. If all they're going to be is humans in statistics, what's the point?

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
