I'd like it if either invis was harder to see or hiding was easier to see, as it is invis is pretty much useless and hiding is just plain uber. Seems kinda unfair if there are a bunch of mundane skills that allow you to see magically hidden people while there are very few magical was to find non magically hidden people. IMO it really should be the other way around especially in a PK sense most mages are more vulnerable then the average assassin not to mention simply for realities sake.

Consider:

1) You can easily get invis from a potion. Because invis is so common and available to every kind of character, methods to beat it are also common.

2) If you listed the top five defining major class abilities of any mage class, invis wouldn't make the list. Hide easily makes the list for both thief and assassin.

Invisibility is a very easy to acquire spell (one of the first you learn), and so is it's counterpart of detection. I disagree that invis is pretty much useless.

Hide is much better, and that is by design, it also has many more limitations than invis does (Trying to make sure a hidden thief can't find you? Walk into the forest)

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Is it just me or do all the stealthy classes gain Hide very early as well? the simplest thing I'd like to see at the very least is to do away with the skills that allow them to see invisible people, leave the potions and such that give you detect invis as well as being able to have someone cast detect on you.

Yes, they gain the "skill" early. This is a good distinction to make, that magic many, many people know and can counter, whereas skills, not so much.

Again...not going to happen. I'm happy with the balance between invisibility and hide.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

You're entitled to your opinion. It's not changing.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
