#19, "A selection of built-in highlights"
|
Doesn't matter so much for me with Zmud, but these are some of the things that people without it, or without knowledge of how to make highlights, might like:
(You pick the color...probably white like the new'ish effect dispel echoes)
- A lesser troll screams and attacks you! - Someguy rescues you! - Someguy lashes out with something and entwines you tightly! - A sudden pain erupts through your skull. - Someguy cuts off your route of escape! - You sense your celestial/thaumaturgic circle weakening. - You are ready to animate more undead. - Your pulse races as you are consumed by rage! (red) - You flicker and blur into the shape of a giant boot. - Invoker spell echoes: >> Fire - Red >> Water - Dark Blue >> Air - Yellow >> Lightning - White >> Earth - Brown/Beige/Grey >> Ice - Light Blue >> Ooze - Dark/Light Green
Anyways that's just what I thought of off the top of my head.

Of all the ones you mention, there is really only one that jumps out at me as something I'd want everyone with color to see and that is:
>- A lesser troll screams and attacks you!
We've been fairly resistant to massive colors everywhere so it doesn't look like a rainbow vomited on your client.
One thing I've kicked around for a very long time, and if it was ever implemented would likely have a toggle, is coloring of affect messages (successful affect, failed affect, negative affect wearing off, positive affect wearing off). Which would actually cover a bunch of what you have here, but it is a massive undertaking that never feels like it's really worth all the effort.

I have to say that this would come in very handy, as I can't count the times I have died due to some skill I didn't see land, or fail due to it ending up running into a round of battle and just blurring into the background. This is mainly due to me nolonger having a good mud client or something comparable to Zmud on mac though...
