You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#169, "Remove some restrictive gear flags"

Heya. Just re-read my Inferno idea and thought this one bit was worth mentioning on its own:

How about removing some of the restrictions (mainly alignment I am talking about) on gear. Why? Well, I think it would help gear circulation a bit by opening items up to a larger market.

Sure, lots of items should retain those align-specific flags, as they are either totally evil or totally good in nature, but I am guessing a lot just have them for no really good reason?

I disagree that they have them for no reason. The area author wrote them with that flag for some reason. That being said, there are probably some that could use this, but I know I'm not going to go through all the area files/objects and verify them.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
