I'm playing my first transmuter (and wizard) and I just got the spell 'pass door' that makes me transluscent.

I vaguely remember as a warrior trying to bash a wizard but not being able to do so because he was kind of insubstantial or translucent.

Is it how wizards escape the bash skill; by using the 'pass door' spell? If not, how are they doing it?

As a transmuter you also have other tools that can help you with mitigation of bash. Being larger (via enlarge) than the person trying to bash you will make it harder to land. You can also be two sizes smaller (via reduce) in some cases which makes you too small to aim at with bash.
