You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

To celebrate how much I love you guys, there are 3 new flaws in play.

And a code update:
```
Minotaur speech no longer makes you immune to: insanity, deafen, drunk, etc.
This means there can now be drunk minotaur.
I apologize to all of you.
```

These are all based on varying forms of speech impediments. I apologize ahead of time to those of you who use screen-readers (I'll figure out something for this later).

If you want your character to struggle with communication they might now have:
`speech impediment` - This is a general speech impediment that takes a few different elements which will inconsistently present themselves as you struggle to form certain words.
`rhotacism` - This consistently makes you struggle with R.
`stutter` - This makes you potentially stutter as you talk.

As the helpfiles indicate, these flaws are HORRIBLE for mages. These flaws are also terrible for you if you rely on things being said or communicated (think cabals, quests, etc).

All the same, if you wanted to have a speech problem and not have to type it out yourself every time, this is for you masochists.

We're all flawed.
But some of your characters more-so than others.
