You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search.
This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).
Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):
The Battlefield: all deaths and deletions are now automatically published to Discord (link on the main website)
Premium Battlefield: PBFs, both old and new, are published on the main website
Bug Submissions: on the main website, click "Bug Board"
Code Changes: code changes (not bug fixes) are documented on Discord
* Limited equipment purging - When you don't log in very often and get hit with the already existing limited equipment purging, it will now not let you keep limited items that are under-limit at the time of that check. You will retain your sleek wands. See https://www.carrionfields.net/helpsearch.php?keywords=hoarding for a reminder on the general process/mechanic.
I'll keep an eye on this for any issues, and adjust accordingly if it doesn't achieve or solve what I want it to.
* Enchant weapon - This spell will no longer remove negative modifiers from weapons on critical failure. Critical failure now also has other consequences.
* Some crash safety stuff, typo fixes (ty Azo), etc.

* Reduced cost of 'Martyr' edge substantially. * Adjust 'Strength of Humility' echoes to better indicate how humble you are (and you are just the humblest, aren't you?) * Forgecraft -- This is the most substantial change this time around. A few things are added to forgecraft which give it a bit more oomph. Firstly, it CAN remove negative stat modifiers from what you forge, and forgeborn are better at that. Secondly, it can repair broken weapons at a substantially reduced cooldown usage to normal.
The shig-ru adaptation has some minor tweaks. A shig-ru, while berserking, now has some trade-offs. This ONLY applies while they are berserking. * Harder to fallback * Will sometimes fail to flee * Will sometimes ignore wimpy
