#75, "On the nature of Nexus' internal structure."

I've been wondering about a few things concerning the topic subject;

Out of the eleven classes which can join the new Nexus cabal only four are actually magi classes, with one class that is more or less a hybrid case. With this in mind, would you consider it correct for people to describe Nexus as a 'mage cabal'? I feel I should ask this just for the record, as Scion uses a somewhat similar method of recruitment while players typically seem to refer to them as the 'evil mage cabal'.

One other related question -- imagine for a moment that you were to exclude the remaining two empowerment classes from being able to join the new Nexus cabal. Wouldn't this swiftly result in its four basic magician classes essentially becoming the core of the cabal in a much more pronounced way than currently is the case? Please keep in mind that this is going from the assumption that Nexus was indeed intended to primarily be a type of mage cabal, rather than a 'seeking balance through several different ways working as one' type of cabal.

I consider one of Nexus's primary goals to be keeping magic healthy and strong. In that manner, it is a magic cabal - indeed, not a mage cabal. I, at least, envisioned the cabal dogma along the lines of...magic really is the glue that holds this world together, things would go mad house crazy if magic stopped working - I know that rips the Sword of Truth series a little, but I really liked the point he made where he questioned, what would happen if a magic world stopped having magic that worked? It would be bad, things would die.

So I think that rather than call Nexus a mage cabal it should be thought of as a magic cabal. IT's why we kind of encourage them to raid battle regardless of how things stand and such.

All of the classes that are not mage classes in Nexus use/embrace magic, via gear, preps, potions, etc, it's just a part of their daily life and they're devoted to keeping it that way. And maintaining the balance everywhere else.

I hope that explains it better? I can understand what you're saying, but I don't think that's the spirit of the letter here.

It wasn't as much a critique of the current state of affairs as it was a way for me to find out where exactly the new Nexus cabal has been placed within the game's world.
