#49, "Bond"

If the bond still exists, will it be like the old bond that meant a mage and a warrior could rank together and get the same exp as if they were in a group of three?

"Shaman and paladin are straight out. I'd say more even than in most 'this class can't be this cabal' combos, since there are no bond powers dreamed up much less coded for either of those classes.

Healers and druids are fair game. They bring generally less juice to a bond than other classes, but on the flipside they can go both ways, being either the warrior or mage half of a bond as appropriate.

I'd say the Nexus powerset is interesting for both of those classes for different reasons... we'll see how it shakes out in play."

I realize this might fall into nepenthesque vagueness, but to me it says that it'll be like before where you get something from the other half of the bond, but they get little/nothing from you. People are asking if that is still the case... Which it doesn't seem to answer, or we're just too stupid to figure out or need to play the class to find out.

Rereading it for the fourth time or so, perhaps you mean that it's different from before but still not quite the mage/warrior bond. I don't know, and neither does (apparently) anyone else.

That's about right. You get versatility at the expense of generally less oomph instead of versatility at the expense of no oomph. There are still some interesting bits to healer and druid bonding.

For the clarification. If it comes up again, I'll be the one telling people that's it has already been adressed

since they will have both the join and accept skills and would it be useful for them to do so? I cringe at trying to kill 2 bonded healers

Without testing it... I don't think so.

I'm thinking two healer bond wouldn't be that great anyway, but, you never know.

Are there any significant advantages to bonding with one, unique to a transmuter. A transmuter can cast most of his spells to a buddy anyways. Metabolic quickening, spiderhands, fly all that. The major ones I can think of would be corporeal hardening and perhaps control trans, but those are relatively counterable by the virtue of stone skin and enlarge/reduce. As for druid bonding, from what I've seen/heard it's not exactly 'minor' benefits .

Yes. Possibly for some classes more than others.

The fact that bonding with a transmuter wasn't really very good before wasn't lost on me.

Alright so I'm a mage in the Nexus but I'm not exactly sure what the bond does/how it works since there's no help files and what not. What I do understand is that experience gain as pointed out in this post and that a warrior has to start it and a mage joins, but what exactly does a bond do?

not all cabal powers are clearly written out so that people have to play with them and figure them out as they go. I could be wrong on bond but that would be my guess why it does not have a detailed help file.

It pretty much shares some abilities of the class that you bond with with you. It's good, trust me. Other than that, you should find out IC.
