If Nep has visions of ending the game, and Baer is at the point where she thought about selling the game ( I know you were kidding, but it suggests you're thinking about some payment from your hobby) then maybe it's time for you both to go? You can still talk to the people you've shared things with for 15+ years on social media, without using the venue of the game as a personal stomping ground. Just taking your posts as a whole for the last 6 months or so, I don't see where this 'hobby' is bringing you any joy. tl,dr: If Daev/Rayh are getting burned out at CF, maybe it's time to take a walk.

Do you set a last name via the lastname command? Imms will not dig around in your role, in general, to figure out what your last name is and custom string it for you unless there's a SERIOUS reason to do so. We're more likely to look at "who haslastname set" and award it from there.
Usually lastname is something we give out for having a role, being cabaled, generally being a part of any religion, etc. If getting last name is a goal you have, consider doing any of these things. Also consider making sure that your name is original and not inappropriate or generally what one might describe as "lame." You know, rolling a frost giant and picking last name "Frosty". Or Frostmostthings.

Theannian (elf outlander healer) got lastnamed at 121 hours, Frearrir (felar outlander shifter) got lastnamed at 195 hours (lastname also explained in role) and Endalion (Fort elf voker) at 230 hours (Positive Imm comments about good RP).
You should have good RP and interact with people often (otherwise the RP won't show) if you want a last name. Being caballed helps as well when it comes to getting lastnamed faster.
So, above we had Theannian (caballed+religious+written role, 125 hours), Frearrir (caballed+written role, 195 hours) and Endalion (applicant at the time, 230 hours).

It's really heart warming to see you all come together and support the efforts of your friends. I had expected that, and certainly you don't disappoint.
I'll address a few points, I guess, but I find this doublespeak difficult, and I think I'll leave it alone after. I didn't come here to try to change anything, just to speak a piece.
Basically, yes, there _is_ an issue I have with an immortal, that stems from things that I am not at liberty to be specific about. So, lets just leave it that the rumors that have come to my ears of abuse of immortal powers that fit more with schoolyard bullying rather than some paltry IP checking empowerment gripe. If they're true, it's troubling for anyone who wants to see this game expand, rather than contract.
You're all very quick to not only support the efforts that have been expended to develop the game, but the free time you sacrifice, all for the benefit of ungrateful bastards like myself. The thing is, you're all (and by this I mean immortals) rather too quick to get quite so vitriolic, quite so tough imm forum soldier on me. Rather than make me laugh off the notion that adults (and yes, I realize we're all in our 30's now, at least) would really behave in such a childish way, it really has sent a bit of a shiver down my spine at the prospect that not only can it happen, it's being enabled. This will never be confirmed or denied, of course, and things will lurch along as they have.
As I reread some of these angry responses about how ungrateful I am and about how stupid I must be, I can't help but laugh. Though rarely stated, I have always been very impressed by Carrion Fields, and the work that was put into it; before, now, and forever. However, my appreciation of it, and of your _work_ does not preclude my support of my friends first in regards to fair play in any arena, even your 'hobby', and I don't consider that stupid.
Lastly, to address a few specifics:
Whys: you seem like a decent guy, and if my posts seem aimed to hurt purely for the sake of that, then that's a poor show of posts on my part. Sorry.
Enlilth: And you're supposed to be the fun guy! But seriously, given what I've heard, your reactions were perhaps most expected. I've had inside glimpses of the immortal staff for years (1997 onwards), but I copied your text down and saved it in my 'mud' file for further perusal. Deep breaths, man.
Thror: I didn't really come to your 'policed' forums (thanks for clearing that up, sorry you didn't have a stronger opener) to get into a 'e-peen' contest with you. So I won't, though I must say that if this forum is policed, your role here reminded me of the guy with the pepper spray at UC Davis. Way to school me on proper netiquette. Quick question: which fraternity did you join in college?
I've wasted enough of your precious hobby time. I'll go back to hanging out with the unofficial crowd. Don't stop doing it if it's what makes you happy, but please stop doing it if its actually an affront to common decency though.
Satchmo Ow! My ovaries!

If you have evidence against a certain imm, spell it out.
Personally I know that the imm who wrote the area west of the Basilica leaked the items within it prior to the area going in (probably because they were excited about their creation) but other than that I have not evidence re breaches,

You stupid asshole. You don't even want to imagine what this game would be like without these two. The implications that these two are ruining the game are just stupid.
Here's the view from level 56. Zulg - codes pushes a lot of the code through, around a lot. Catches #### because you can't find wands. Daev - codes in his free time. picks up a lot of prog requests, and is mentoring new people to help code. Rarely actually on. Catches #### because you can't find wands. Scar - codes what interests him, around when his life allows it. Twist - approves religions, areas, interacts and builds morts that blast your ass while you're giving Zulg and Daev #### about not being able to find your wands.
Baer - mentors people and gets areas pushed through the above three. Constant presence. Begs and pleads with people to help the area review process. Roleplays and empowers the newbie masses. Catches #### because she's tired of dealing with your bitch ass whining about some sort of twisted conspiracy theory 8 times a day. Works her ass off for mud stuff while people publicly refer to her as a cunt.
everyone else at Baer level or higher is around sporadically at best. AFTER THAT
It's a wash between mentoring new heroimms, area reviews, and cabal administration. Most of us are well into our thirties. A lot of us have significant time investments that are not CF related in specific regards to family.
If you have such a big problem then take your toys and your mad skillz and move the #### on. These stupid ass posts on multiple forums that we empower and reward based on IP are ludicrous (MOST imms can't see this anyway). The rest demanding Baer and Daev step down are done without realizing that damn near anything new goes in goes through both of these people in the process. Your ass rewards their efforts by crying that they need to leave and other allegations that it must be Baer's time of the month. It's just stupid.
#### like this just pisses me clean the #### off.
PS You guys can delete if you want, or lock, or forum ban. I probably deserve it. -- Try an Enlilth follower today! Enlilth, now with 40% more chewey caramel in every bite. --

Sometime opinions are better kept to yourself. I strongly suggest you follow that advice.
This is a public forum. That was a public opinion. Sorry if it cheesed you off, but that can happen. You'll notice, if you care to look, that I don't really post on the offical forums much. I mostly came on-board (hah) to voice my opinion NOW, because I didn't like the opinions and 'tone' I was hearing from some of the staff. Not so much because I have a problem with it, in and of itself, but rather because I get annoyed when there seems to be a "we can, you can't" attitude in forum moderation. So that's what I saw, and it's what I'm responding to.
Now, how about you go cool off, and come back and try again. Cause if you keep being this abrasive, I hear you could get unwelcome here.

But here I agree with Thror that was a really douchey post.
Now that said if it meant Nep/Baer would have more fun playing mortals well then I am all for that.
Remember people, this is a game. You are supposed to have fun. Making it into some life/death struggle for getting your way about a hobby is ridiculous.
I may not always agree with Daev/Baer but they've done so much for the MUD it would be a travesty if they quit.

I'm largely not logging on much at this point, so in that sense I have removed myself as much as I'm willing to.
The important corallary to "I'd think about pulling the plug if it were just up to me" that it seems like everyone's missing is "but it's not just up to me, nor do I think it should be just up to me, so how I'm feeling is just what it is."

If it is player negativity that's getting to you, then you should quit both forums for a month. Perhaps reduce Immtime and play a mort during this period, without reading forums at all. I've tried this approach before at some time and it did help me enjoy the game more.
So, if you have a cool mort idea you would enjoy, then take a break from Immland and focus on that and get immersed. In any case, motivated and happy Nep is a big asset to the game. Chance of getting that back is worth even losing the stressed out Nep for a month.
In any case, I hope you can get the stress worked out of your system.

Daev,
I've been a fan of yours forever, I on behalf of all the people that play this game that arent douchebags would like to apologise. You have had one of the largest hands in creating this game and making it what it is today.
CF was a huge part of my life growing up and it got me through some real rough patches of depression, the ability to utterly immerse myself in this game I believe gave me the ability to continue on in some bad situations. Sometimes the only thing getting me through was the thoughts of getting home and logging in whatever character I had going.
I only briefly knew you on a personal level as Kirslamix when I became an AVA a number of years ago.
I would like to thank you Daevryn (and obviously the other IMMS), for doing the huge amount of things you do for this game. There will always be haters, but don't forget you have fans out there too.
Best regards,
Kirslamix, ilostmycoconut, Cody.
