Hmmm...two mistakes in this I see. First off, I was good, not evil. Second off, I know I pk'd at least one person. Now I admit a pk ratio under 5%, but I never wanted to pk anyway.

Galelle was my first Hero, so I reached that goal with her. She was fun, and I did learn a lot. I made her to explore with, which is eventually why I lost interest in her. I found it incredibly tough to explore solo. The arcane spells cost too much mana, fail too much, and take too long to cast.

As for the inevitable question of a male playing a female char, here's why. I wanted a purely exploration char who had no interest in pk'ing. Getting more in-depth into the role, with a little bit stolen from WOT, I felt a female would fit the role better than a male. As for mudsex, I wasn't about to go there. Silly how many people "tested the waters" in that respect, but the most I did was blush, then changed the subject.

To all the Hero Masters that I grew up with, or who helped me out, thank you. It was a pleasure to be around you. Kardonian, thanks for carrying me around with you, I hope I wasn't too bad! Annalena, again, it was a pleasure to be around you. To be honest, I don't think we ever did travel together, but still we shared a lot growing up.

If I remember right, it took 179 hours to hero. I think that's entirely too long. Though many helped, Elshadir, you were always a good friend willing to travel. Laloqun and Ilanagurath (sorry if I mispelled), you helped me take that final step to become a Heroine, thank you.

Not that you asked for my input about this comment, but I figured this would be a convenient place to toss in my few cents about the topic.

If, as it sounds like you did in this specific instance, someone puts effort into developing a character's role and doing other things with the character other than 100% effort into heroing, I think 179 is on the short side of how much time it should take. Maybe 800 hours is too long, but 179 surely isn't. Even if you totally dedicated yourself to heroing without regard to RP (not something I'd recommend, but for sake of this note), I don't think it should take under 100 hours. I seem to recall someone bragging they did it in 39 hours once.

Why do I mention my view on this? Just so everyone knows where this IMP's vote goes on issues that impact how much time it takes to level up to hero. I don't think people should waste time on monotonous and unimaginative things to make it longer, just that heroing should be a run, not a sprint.

Hero time? Usually for mage types for whatever reason it takes longer. Most mages that I played to hero took well over 100 hours. Usually in the range of 100-200 hours depending on how many mob deaths I have to put up with. Damn teleport and it's unerring accuracy to lead me into Shadar Logoth or Grazzur in Mortorn.

Non-mages? Usually around the 100 hour area. This is assuming you do a good amount of practicing, role playing, ranking, and just plain putzing around gathering equipment because you just got your ass handed to you in a PK and you know they full looted you.

So don't feel bad about ranking in 180 hours or whatever. ##### happens for whatever reason. Just be sure you make good friends who are willing to rank you when you hit those bad streaks of dying to mobs, dying to PK, or whatever.

Good luck on your next character... I usually find it MUCH easier to hero after you hero your first character on CF since you know a bit about what you should be doing to rank at least.
