What's the matter? Got bored of SPAM-KILLING?! Man, get a little variety in your life when you kill... kill one char and then find another. I watched a lot of people get so fed up of you. I'm not trying to dis you man, but I hope you realise there are a lot of pissed off people out there...
Good luck with the next one.

and all the other cheating bastards on CF. The day I found the sienna potions they were removed on reboot. What a fucking crock of #####. The imms move things around to suit themselves. ##### dealing with all this #####.

Thought you deleted because you got hit with a hero PK range. Then again it does seem odd that you find something and then the imms change the location of the item after a reboot. Though I still don't think due to a change in location of something is grounds for deletion.

Yeah well I understand your ignorance from your outside view. I was intending to delete when I logged on. There was no point in continuing the character that was in a hole, distended and had no means to protect himself. Upon seeing that the potion was moved the reboot after I found it, I understood that should I ever find a rod, that'd be gone too. So what is the fucking point? As long as your immortals rock the casbah, who cares? You are all cheats as far as I am concerned and have a serious chip on your shoulders. As for dying, I tried to sleep Malcore when I was on 150 hps (ie carefactor nill). It wasn't a rage/death deletion. It was premeditated.

> Yeah well I understand your ignorance from your outside view
Well, in my ignorance I have a couple things to say.
First off, sienna potions have sat in the same place since the area they're in was introduced. They've never moved. Ever.
Second, you were an Anti-Paladin. I realize you don't have Identify as an Anti-Paladin, but you do realize that sienna potions are well-nigh useless to you?
Third, you seriously aren't as important as you think if you really believe we're all sitting around in the heavens waiting for you to find a potion that's useless to you so we can move it, reboot, and giggle at your expense. I mean, honestly, this is ridiculous.

Actually, i've played some chars who were quite into their rp, but would have easily gotten distended to the point where pking would not have been an option (namely my necromancers, considering how slow they rank until about 30 and how easy it is to kill people with them). For a very brief moment, I thought distention was going to be cool (yeehaw, no more of those annoying ass rank 41 sitters who think they're so tough), but I was sorely dissapointed to find out how quick it affected you. I like to pk my fair share on my way up, even hang around at certain ranks for maybe half a week to a week... especially when a cabal situation warrants it (ie. the cabal is getting seriously beat down in the hero range and they need lowbies to retrieve a lot). I started pking with a lowbie throw away char in the 20's and was quite disturbed to find that after about 4-5 40 minutes pk sessions I was already pretty radically distended. So I tested out how ranking affects it and it seemed to lower it nicely. But one session later he was where he began, even a bit worse. This made me realize that anybody with any sort of skill at pking will get distended if they can't find a decent ranking group in a span of a week but still play regularly and sometimes go pk hunting when they're on. Honestly, I thought it was going to work to eliminate ONLY the strictly pk chars (chars with no purpose other than to sit at their most beneficial level/s and kill people), but quite frankly i'd be afraid to go out pking on more than one or two occassions per rank with any of my primary characters in the lower ranks. In my mind (and quite a few others) cf is no longer really a pk mud, since you seem to get punished for it now.

Going by the number of players online at a given time who are distended, it's a somewhat rare occurrence.
I started pking with a lowbie throw away char in the 20's and was quite disturbed to find that after about 4-5 40 minutes pk sessions I was already pretty radically distended.
If you are feeling distention in your early 20's, your heart would have likely exploded under the old system. Thus, distention actually makes less of a penalty in that scenario. It's a little rougher in your late 20's than it used to be, but that's intentional. The days of sitting forever at level 26 just got a lot rougher.
So I tested out how ranking affects it and it seemed to lower it nicely.
Yup.
But one session later he was where he began, even a bit worse. This made me realize that anybody with any sort of skill at pking will get distended if they can't find a decent ranking group in a span of a week but still play regularly and sometimes go pk hunting when they're on.
Err... in a week, you can't find a group? During the time it would take you to re-activate distention, I'm convinced you could go gain a couple levels if you were trying. Also, distention doesn't stop you from PKing. It just makes you go and find tougher opponents, instead of picking off the same caliber of people over and over. If you're in over your head, rank a bit.
That's an unfounded fear. The number of PKs you have to make to feel appreciable distention is large.
In my mind (and quite a few others) cf is no longer really a pk mud, since you seem to get punished for it now.
We're looking for a balance between RP and PK. Always have been.

Really? You mean people are trying to avoid getting distended or deleting their chars that are already distended? Imagine that.

Unless I am radically mistaken in my calculations, this chars heart would not have exploded by the time he was getting fairly distended.

Are you kidding? Maybe a rager warrior can still compete, but generally you're just screwed having to fight 10 ranks above you. Also, you've played a scarab before, I don't have to tell you how hard it can be to rank with an uncabal'd or when your role turns a lot of potential allies into enemies. At time my playing time is very limited and I have had great difficult ranking with a few chars. Oh, and I gained two ranks with my warrior and then my group broke up. I re-activated distention in under 20 minutes.
>That's an unfounded fear. The >number of PKs you have >to make to feel appreciable >distention is large.
I'm not sure if you're qualified to speak here. You aren't quite a proven pk'r and your strengths lay elsewhere. Given my mediocre skills, I shudder to think how fast Yboedar's player will be getting distended in the future (if he continues playing).
>We're looking for a balance between >RP and PK. Always >have been. >
Balance eh? That's odd, i've never seen anybody punished for roleplaying too much.

As enticing as you've just made the prospect of e-mailing you, i'll just state the basics here. I was mostly mentally keeping track of my approximate number of kills. I've played 2-3 chars (only one was a serious lowbie pk'r developed for that express purpose) that have had to watch for their hearts exploding, so i'd wager I have a pretty good general idea of when to watch out. It was especially easy here cause I was distended after about only 8-10 pk sessions. I can say with almost complete certainty that my heart would not have exploded and that I prolly had a little over 30 kills by the time I was distended at rank 23. In addition, I had several bugs that had to be fixed with the char, including an age bug and an irregular stats change (most likely related to the age one).

>First off, sienna potions have sat >in the same place since >
The other day, around the time Yboedar deleted, I found sienna potions in a place they were not normally located. In addition, the container in which they're held refreshed so that there was a continuous supply. It seemed a bug, and I reported it (but the container remained several hours later - so it now seemed a "feature"). I believe Yboedar stumbled across these out-of-place sienna potions for a very obvious reason:
It is *impossible* for him to reach the actual location of the sienna potion.
>Second, you were an Anti-Paladin. >I realize you don't have > >Identify as an Anti-Paladin, but you >do realize that >sienna potions are well-nigh useless to >you?
Well, the AP spell you're talking about doesn't seem to do anything for defense, so sienna isn't a terrible option. I have a couple in my pack for the next RBW.
