Well well...My first character back since about 96. I'm surprised I even made hero with all of the changes since then. My lack of knowledge of the new Thera obviously showed with my Awesome pk ratio. My first bard ever, and my first character back, so I can't get too down on myself for sucking so bad.
My biggest problem was I picked a role that I couldn't fullfil (maran hopeful yet I couldn't pk anyone!) ...At least until my last dying quest to stomp the orc village with\for Gromezy.
Farewells:
Zjemmur (Ayuh)- the main reason I deleted was you did. You were the only person that would even put up with my obvious lack of knowledge, and would kinda help me analyze what I was doing wrong during my futile pk attempts. And you taught me sooooo much thank you thank you!
Gromezy - I had some really good conversations with ya, and ya had the most contact with me as I decided to die killing all the orcs in the village. Keep up the war! And don't let a few orc deaths get you down. damn Spinebreaker is too overpowered with the elf skin thing. I think a good equivalent would be allowing bards to sing cold be sleep in the middle of a battle.
Uelveyye - Thank you for putting up with me as well. We had some good times, but our communication kinda died off along with Zjemmur
Theola - Thanks for coming with me on that orc warpath there. The main reason I got involved is I'm pretty sure the whole Olin being killed thing was started by Thrakszburg (Sp?), so I was hoping for a little immteraction, and a big bang on my way out.
Gorach an the drake- I really liked ya, but I didn't think ya wanted to be bothered with another elf bard *shrug* I kept trying to start up some dialgue with ya, but ya obviously had some other things goin, so that never worked out. I got the feeling you obviously knew I didn't know a whole lot about Thera, so ya didn't want to be bothered with me.
All of those who kicked my ass all over Thera - Thanks for doing it I learned a lot, and it made me feel extremely compelled to find some preps, which I managed to find a few on my own.
Please Please Please those of you who killed me, any suggestions ya can give me on how to not suck so bad please leave em here.

I enjoyed our times together. Our playing times seemed to overlap pretty good, and having a bard beside me made my life that much easier. And hey, you were good company too!
Thanks for the song by the way, I think it's the first ode written of one of my characters. As far as bards go, it took me three tries to get a hang for pk'ing with one. Gear makes a huge difference. Going into a fight with 1200 hp is a totally different experience than 800 hp. Reducing to avoid giant bashes and sneaking into areas where people rest between runs of ranking were the best ways I got kills (well, fiends got most my kills, but that counts )
Hopefully we'll meet again in different incarnations.

I think that might have been my problem. I was generally (with crappy +hp gear) carrying about 850-900 hp. I didn't know where any of the good gear was, and I damn sure couldn't pk to get it...The one time I had a decent set of gear Stargher stomped my ass *shrug*
A lot has changed since the old days...When FoN was west of Galadon (and you would rank on forest burners in the mid to low 40's), and the Eastern road was about 8 rooms long not 60!
I'm hoping I can continue to play as much as I have been because it's all starting to come back to me, and with a little time I'll learn the newer areas.
I sure wish ya were around when I deleted...I went out with a bang, and started a big war against the orc village. Gromezy, ya better keep up that war damnit!!!

Bards can be some of the deadliest people around, even saw a lich die to a fiend awhile back. Some general hints to pking in general. Preperations is one aspect, barrier, shield, aura, stone skin, protection, fly, haste. reduce, enlarge...all can be invalueable. If you're human size and want to fight a giant, quaff a flight potion and reduce yourself, unless it's a warrior or ranger won't be able to lag you. On the other end, if you have a character that can use scrolls, wands or staves, think maledictions as well. Blinding, cursing, poisoning, plagueing, worldbinding...useful to find these. Biggest thing in pk, know who your enemies are, know where they are or are likely to be. You don't want to fight them, fine, better know where to stand so you won't have to however. Want to fight them, know where they are and the best way to spring on them that gives you the best chance of success. It's a live and learn, die and learn more situation. No one starts as a great pker, and the best pkers have died about every way imaginable and have learned and adapted. Just a few suggestions...

Thanks...ranking was about the only thing I had down pat with this bard. Everything else kinda fell apart. Wish we could have had more times together.
