Not only bad wands, no wands after searching all over for them. Thanks of course to what people in the fortress did aid me, but everytime i died i also found myself full looted, or a a few village applicants before i was even rank 25 hammering away at me three, four times in a row, then it would be another villager. He was just to frail, and losing four con that quickly, and no wands was stresser enough to try another character out.
