I had a lot of fun with this char.

Twist-Thank you for some of the interaction I had fun with it.

Thrakburzug and Enlilth, thank you for the RP session at the Inn, listening to story time with Thrak and Enlilth was a lot of fun, I always have and always will love interaction time with Thrak, you have awesome RP and player interaction, really make orcs come alive.

Krengrar - You were one of my favorite players to interact with in nexus, one of the few others that wasnt always kill kill kill, and tried to find peacefull ways to fight as well.

Parspis - You were a fun confidant to have around for a while and I was really dissapointed when you left.

Jakziim - My latest friend on the Island, You seemed to have a more balance approach to being a nexun and I liked it, You focused more than on just the war going approach to the Island and some of the more important aspects of helping to secure it into the future, I was burnt out for a long time on Praeto but kept going because I didnt see anyone else on the Island that shared some of the same goals with me in how to hopefully bring a rennasaince to the Island in terms of what we talked about, Good luck on finishing what you started, It's a long hard road ahead of you if you do accomplish it, but it will have a lasting impact on nexus if you stick it out, and you can do great things.

I saw a lot of new people on the Island that would apply, join, stick around for a bit and leave. I tried to help people feel more involved, and appreciated on the Island during my time on it as well as during my time as Meter, I tried to make interviews in depth and rewarding, Give people a sense of accomplishment when they finished them. I only got a chance to do a couple but hopefully those that got interviewed by me enjoyed the process and it was more than just a bump in the road of thier charachter and something they could be proud of, I tried to make it a memorable occasion for them. I believe that for nexus retention and quality of Role Play to come up, There needs to be a lot more tradition and pride on the Island to foster the kind of loyalty and comradere that the Village has, which a lot of is definatly lacking.

Notable people I will miss on the Island or already did.

Andaayhn, you were a beast and fun to play with for a long time, Though we had differing views on styles of balancing the scales a lot of times.

Iltch - I had a lot of fun with you about, Always fun to hear your no nonsense method of leadership.

Naruade - I was sad to see you fade into obscurity, for a while there it looked like you would be a regular.

Nitch - If you up your hours you have potential.

Elasmotherum - Good dedication and skilled player, Just seems your playing time has gone down of late.

Jennil - Stop being such a fair weather player and you would be a lot more fun to be about. I would be duo and you would log on and no one would be visable to you and before I could even greet you, already gone, You were on my list of people to boot for a long time, I just could never catch you on long enough to do it. You have potential but just dont seem to have the dedication.

Crypto - When you charge into battle, Someone is going to die, Either the opposition or you. Not many fights without a true end when you are involved. I'm was a lot more conservative in my approach, As to the imperials north of Hamseh fight, I was waiting for taytum to get there for a hopefull jack on the bard to give us a more even fight. I saw you charging up and didnt want to leave you alone, but I had the improved scan skill and scanned north and saw three imperials fighting Macha 3 paces north of you and knew it was going to get ugly.
I came in and started fighting but As soon as I had the bard song on me that made it impossible to see effects it was time to get out, I was expecting you in hamseh right behind me. Good luck and keep on going you Scurvy Dog!

Villagers - There were a lot of you I had a lot of fun battling and bantering with back and forth. I tried to respect your corpses as much as possible and tried most of the time to give you fair fights, There were a lot of times that people would be wanting to go into the village with a huge gang and stomp one of you and I would make sure I wasnt available, One time I flat out said over cb, Does it really take four people to kill one villager? If I seemed under prepped most of the time it was because I was, My barrier rod was in a dangerous place to get that I didnt know very well so I would rarely ever take the effort to get it, so Most of the time I fought with just A/S and no B. I also tooled a lot of my Edges to making myself better oriented for helping others, For instance when I travelled with Andaayhn a Lot I chose Master of Leisure for repairing his legs quickly from flurring and flurry spam while he was learning it. I chose a lot of Melee Oriented Edges to make myself more defensive rather than offensive. I didnt choose either of the Neuro edges.

I tried as much as possible to stay true to my guild and not attack other transmuters unless it was a last resort. I tried to activly recruit/Persuade young balanced individuals towards the Island by presenting a picture of it that made it's role in Thera very important and viable to them and hopefully I helped a few people in that regard. The Nexus is not easy to play if you take it seriously and try to find a way to make it more than just an excuse to PK whoever is tipping the scales at the time. I tried to play off of a lot of the political/rhetoric side of the fights moreso than the PK. I had a lot of interesting conversations with people about what happened within it.

Dragrahl - I enjoyed our banter quite a bit, We were of very similar Personality and styles just on different sides of the Coin.

I'm sure I forgot people over 420 hours of play and that will happen, Good luck to those still on the Island and keep on trucking, Try to leave a legacy for those involved in it's future and try to build a sense of pride and comradere in what you do.

Praeto

PS my role completely sucked and was an afterthought as this was my first serious char on cf in years.

Our playing styles were on extremely different sides of the spectrum. Still I think there was a sense of mutual respect between us. Bonding and druids just doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you're a conjurer, or a ranger, or a warrior. When you're fighting enemies trained and prepared to fight druids, the bond just doesn't help either one of us. The vanguard is a far superior skill to what people think. Especially if you have the champion of balance edge.

You had a knack for stealing my kills and I guess I managed to steal a bunch of yours too. It was fun in the peak of things, but it's kinda petered out now.

Good luck with your next.

You are a dead ringer for being extremely similar to a char from a long time ago and I'll find out if i'm right or not when you are gone.

In game you were at odds with Praeto a lot because we had a different vision on the Nexus, it's direction and purpose. But if you werent there I would have missed out on a lot of my talks with other cabals trying to repair at least some resemblence of peace at times as you were a shoot first ask questions later type of char, I believed I was important in my role of the nexus in balancing out our approach to the balance and kind of shifted my charachter more to the peacefull side to balance out even more.

Hey Praeto.

You were like a mentor to Jakziim. I really enjoyed our talks. I had a nexun a couple of characters ago and you were always around. When Jakziim finally came about to be I didn't see you too much. I could tell you were getting burned out, but after our talks I really thought you were going to stick around for awhile longer. I wish I had started the wheels in motion for the event we talked about sooner, but I was putting it off until the end of the semester which is only two weeks away for me.

I'm really sad to see you go. Good luck with your next. I really hope you stay in the game.

Hopefully you are able to keep up the motivation to do what we discussed, the cabal really needs it. All of the things we talked about would make playing a nexun more rewarding for players and give the cabal more of a sense of family, which was a lot of what I was gunning for internally as a char.

You calling my Villager a 'coward' and 'pansy', and nothing else, when I would hit and run against the Nexus guardian while retrieving(and you, much to my demise), isn't so much 'banter' but you being a retard.

The gnome race should require some form of empowerment. Too many idiots do them a serious injustice.

If you got insulted and taunted it means I didnt like your charachter one bit. People like Fjarn, Jalenkan, Dragrahl I would give an opportunity for them to convince me of thier philosphy so I could hear a little of the role behind thier chars. I'd of course try and convince them of mine too. Ragers I didnt like I would just taunt because I considered them not smart enough or too twisted to understand reason.

Re: Just calling someone 'coward'/'pansy', etc.: To the outside world, this is identical to you losing your temper and abandoning roleplay, however. It's something you see a lot, especially from newer players, but it rarely comes off well.

A lot of things like that can be retroactively explained away as a quirk of your role... but it leaves two questions:

1) Why didn't you explain this in advance?
2) Why would you write that role?

As a Player it came down to the fact that I wasnt going to put forth the effort to roleplay with a poorly roleplayed charachter. Me putting in the effort Knowing that it wont spurn better roleplay out of the person and that thier response will just be shut up mage anyways I find not to be worth the effort or frustration in char.

To amplify what I'm saying, A common problem with villagers is when they die all the villagers are like great char well played. But the people on the outside of the village only see a PK toon. The thing that seperates a well played villager from a poorly played cookie cutter one is one that roleplays with his enemies as well, gives them a sense as to why he wishes them dead in some way and perhaps lets all of the playerbase enjoy thier story and not just the immortals and a few within the village. Most villagers fit into the RP for village and Imms only catagory. A few stand outs RP for everyone and those are the ones that are memorable.

Here's just another example of people having no problem being assbags to villagers in both ganky-ness and rp, and turning around and whining when a rager treats them in kind.

If you can't be bothered to rp with people who aren't crapping rainbows in your direction, play an evil sphere vanity. And when you're writing that role, put that little asterisk in that says I'm too much of a #### to have any real class, so I'm writing this role to justify it.

RP'ing at people who are clearly not trying can be fun. I've even gotten an edge (albeit minor) for doing that. I'm just saying, hold yourself to a higher standard instead of getting on that waaambulance.

I'm not going to post any more on this subject but see droghnund's goodbye posts from people, He's the one that made me give up on trying to RP back with ragers that had that attitude. I'd try to RP back and low and behold ignore is turned on. Not worth the effort when thier way of rping back to an honest attempt at opening a conversation based upon your charachter's views is to ignore the person.

I tried to rp with every single person with my rager, I was polite if just a tad bit abrassive as a true racist would be, but just a tad bit. Now you went out of your way to taunt me with what seemed very little rp justification or rp taunting itself. Instead you would demeane, insult, point finger, and just plain bitch and either gather a couple people to gank me (then saying... see, you won't fight me cause I am stronger.... even though when I would try to fight you alone you wouldn't bother) or you would go duo and hit ignore to the point that I think you have quit, multiple times, only to see you later on still far down on the who list.

Now how is that trying to RP?

From the start you would run and gank and ignore, from the start you would perma, from the start you did all this and yet the imms turned a blind eye cause the numbers are dwindling.

Maybe some standard needs to be put back in effect (even if it is just a simple slap on the back and a warning) to keep quality up.

Thanks.

Chris

I'm just pointing out that to an outside observer: You look no better than the hypothetical villager.

Roleplay breeds roleplay. Elevate your game, and people will often respond. Sink to the lowest common denominator, and you don't really get to complain about other people much.

My char may be evil, but OOC, I'm not. I enjoyed our conversations - you seemed to get alot more chatty later in life, as if you were an elder pondering the things that you've done in your life.

Earlier in life, I could barely find you outside of duo - though every time the village was raided by Andy, Praeto, etc, I always figured you were hiding just outside, ready to pop out and neuro me into oblivion. Especially when I'd discern them and see your metabolic quickening on Andy.

Glad to hear that you weren't always a part of that nasty ganking there. And I'm glad that we were able to keep our opposition amicable and I was able to get you back your shinies in Imperial lands when I got you good

I was considering leaving Nexus when you called me up to the Island, when you gave me all you stuff I decided to tough it out a bit longer, only to be assassinated directly after yet another broken nightgaunt attempt aimed at said assassin and lose it all. Afraid I'm not cut out for Nexus, sorry about that. Hope you have fun with your next.

Praeto was a good character. We had some good fights back and forth. I'm sure you got me more than I got you. If you won, it meant my death. If I won, it meant you worded. We had some decent group fights at the village and some good 1v1 and 2v2 action at the Island, too. Praeto ran with the Nexus Gank Squad(tm) for the longest time, but I could tell that you did peel off and do your own thing after awhile. Overall it seemed like there was always mutual respect between us, and I appreciate that.

We had some entertaining dialogue throughout Praeto's life. And thanks for showing Fjarn how much fun it is to smoke opium. Relaaaaaaax.

The difference between our fights with/without head were day and night, But i'd always still try to bring it when you raided, whether I had preps or not. For killing the majority of mages/shifters Berserkers may be the way to go. But for killing/beating prepped out mages Scouts are scary, I couldnt figure out a way to take you down with my limited barrier availability, But it was still fun fighting you just to try to figure it out. Great job on a well played char. I loved all of our talks about Andaayhn, as you phrased him, the confused giant, A heart of a warrior with a missplaced mind, he belonged in the village but for some reason walked with mages. You definatly have the cohones and the skill to be the commander, and you back it up with level headed, never lost in anger role play. Well done and hopefully people get to enjoy your char for a while longer.

I wish we could have had a few more talks. In the beginning it seemed you just hated Fendril and everything thing he stood for, which was so odd to him as he is a Svirf, Yes he is for Order, but still atleast somewhat nuetral. Then we had a few conversations and things smoothed out. Next time I saw you, and either of us were not getting jumped, I was hoping to speak with you more about your life in the Nexus. Oh well. Good luck with your next.

I never hated Fendril, Just had no choice when order was tipping heavily, I would always warn you somewhat in advance though that I might be dangerous around you at that time. Sometimes well in advance, sometimes right before, as if I told you when and how would kind of ruin the prospect of it.

Thanks for all the conversation over the char's lifetime. There were times where I really wanted to pound of Nexus but a few steady players would keep me calm. It's odd how different people can have such an opposing view of a char. I have read the replies of those who really didn't like you much but I never heard or saw anything neg out of your char. Cabals need longterm steady players to stop big shifts and you certainly helped Nexus with that. See you in the fields.

You are one of my favorite chars on CF since I started playing again, Your roleplay is top notch. Your fighting prowess matches too. You are perhaps what I see as the best combination of PK and RP I've seen on the game in a long long time. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interact with you.

The Old flat gnome finally bit it. A shame you were good for the Island for the most part, way too cautious for Crypto, but then again he grew up on a pirate ship. I remember even as a lowbie you actively recruiting and helping them out, which I thought was great. Well at least you got your wish and became Meter before the end. Unfortunately RL is kicking the crap out of me, but hopefully I'll be back soon. Especially since so few of us actually make it hero in Nexus. GLWYN, Arrrgggh!

Taking a break from Nexus for a while But I always gravitate back. This charachter was kind of me wanting to relive my old nexus muter Munro from back in the day. I realized early on they were a lot different than back then and a lot of the mechanics had subtly changed, Muters are still a fun class to play though. Against a person who doesnt know how to fight them they can be rediculously overpowered, but against a charachter that knows how to fight them they can be a pain in the ass to play, but can still come out on top. You were fun to have around and it was always interesting to hear a pirate in CB. You definatly differ from me in the balls to the wall style of pk. I linked you, Grecken, and Andaayhn in that catagory and you were all pretty successful in that aspect.

Xiu, How could I leave you out, you were possibly one of my favorite villagers to talk to, While you made a lot of Nexuns angry and as a nexun I probably should have supported them in trying to drag you down because of the back and forth insults, I decided to take a different route and hopefully you appreciated it, I gave you the chance to repent at any time and be welcomed into the Nexus with open arms, to hell with my reputation. You seemed like a person who could be a fun player but was having a lot of hard luck with your charachter, part of it brought on by yourself, but I believe you were new to assassins and people realised this and tagged you as an easy target so would hunt you to improve thier pk records, you seemed to be getting better at fighting and handling yourself in the end. I always tried to be positive in my interactions with you. Good luck with your next charachter when that one is over and I hope you are still enjoying yourself with that one. I know for a lot of people think I was a ganging/looting asshat, but those who actually interacted with me in a role play manner would get replies that would allow it to go in both directions. Tuhdain would be an example, At first we had unfriendly not so good talks. But later on We would have talks that had me laughing my ass off out of my chair. At times you would do the same with me.

I very much enjoyed our interactions as well--The constant kindness, and open-armed policy to redemption was confusing to Xiu--Who doesn't exactly think Magi have those qualities.
I very much enjoyed how you would speak to me, no matter the situation, and always made me smile each time I saw you around. I laughed my ass off largely during some of our conversations, and at a few others I was suprised--As a player--at how you pulled off a phenomonal roleplaying speech while still seeming friendly, and not sounding like a self-righteous ass-hat.
Final note: I, and Xiu, both very much enjoyed Praeto, and all of our interactions. The fact that you never gave up on her always made me smile, and I'd like to compliment you on your humor and roleplay.

Xiu <3's Praeto.

Well darn... there goes a pretty fair enemy. I rather enjoyed our interactions for the most part aside from that Igbah and your raid but I can't fault you for that. You seemed to keep good rp and what I would consider not bad at all for a Meter. I am curious though, why the delete? Anyway I hope ya will be back soon.
