Bah! I pretty much told you how I felt about your death right after you died on your quest. I feel somewhat guilty, us being like brothers in our war, and letting you fail in your final quest, wish I could have helped you succeed. But, that quest was insanely hard. Fitting, but hard.

Your tactics that went along with your warpath were well used. There were seldom any mistakes I saw you make. Your character was impressive overall, I liked Rieger, but then again, we were both followers of Thror, and villagers...and dedicated villagers..heh. I wish I could have had you as my Drillmaster or General. You will be missed. I do so hope you keep coming to the Village walls with your characters. Farewell brother, and now your spirit is finally freed from the Matron Mother.

Yes, I know the pk ratio sucks. What can I say? This was by far the hardest character I've ever played. There were several times I wanted to delete purely out of frustration. The ratio could have been a little better, I made lots of tactical errors, which I kicked myself for realizing too late. But, this character was supposed to be hard. That was the whole idea behind him. Thror is the Lord of hardships, and a drow would have to face the most hardships. I usually stick to ragers, and this was my first character in a little over a year. I normally take breaks between characters. I'm trying to decide whether or not to jump right into another one, I have a good idea for a role. I normally play battleragers, but this was the first defender I've played. At first I thought playing a defender sucked ass. It kind of did, it certainly added a little to the hardship aspect. But, the longer I played him, the more I learned to appreciate his defender advantages. Defenders are compliment other characters very well, and I think that is when they are at their best. Anyhow a few comments on the the characters Rieger interacted with.

Battle: Hell, there are a lot of you Rieger knew, but he didn't get to know many real well until after the village cleared out. Tobeldest, learned alot from you. You're a bad-ass giant. Shamus, the one Rieger knew best. It seemed like the two of us against the world all the time. I'm certain you'll do real well leading the village, and Rieger was glad you were there for his last death. I think we accomplished our priorities the best we could.

Nexans: Thalongrim, I liked how you made it a gentlemans war. Tons of honor. I was really impressed.

Dawn: Lysrieal, I wanted to have a conversation with you about war vs. peace, but never got the chance.

Warlocks: Verienel, and I'll add Lintronea here too because you two are attached by the hip. I think I died the majority to the two of you and that damn quicksand, I hate that #####!

Immortals: Intronan, got to know you a bit towards the rites. An excellent Imm you are. I especially like the fact that you comment over the cabal channel alot. And, Thror. Your religion is fascinating. There was a lot more I would have liked to have done, but I've heard others say it and I agree. You are an excellent imm to interact with, it was thouroughly enjoyable. It was kind of ironic, but fitting in some way that Rieger died on his quest for con. It was also a little more ironic that he fled into and was finished by the Matron. Thanks for the time, and the opportunity, the first few times Rieger spoke with you, I didn't think you were too impressed.

One last thing I would like to know, who was the person who kept ventriloquiting or whatever the spell is called "a vioce on the wind..." to Rieger all the time? It happened all the time even when he was in his teen ranks. I would especially like to know about that stuff about his sin's, and how they were his weakness.

I had a far more irritating time against you than anyone else, couldn't ever hit you.

I feel sorry for Shamus now, he is literally the last man standing.

Well, we are wed after all *giggle*. Anyways, seeing ragers stuck in quicksand made me realize if in some strange moment of insanity I played a villager, I'd go cloud giant, just to be able to fly.

You without a doubt are the one villager I admired the most. That time you attacked me in Tar Valon right in front of Constance and her guards just amazed me. I said to myself here is someone whose roll and rp mean more than PK ratio to them. I (and I imagine Thror) wish you had come up with a way to despise magic and attack it at any point like you did, but not die so often.

Ask Destrinax about flying and quicksand. He thought the same thing and surly it doesn't happen a lot but Earthbind is one hell of a bad thing when you don't notice it when fighting at the Shrine....quicksand outside once he got hurt he was dead.....but like I said I'm sure it doesn't happen a lot.

It's a shame I only really got to know you towards the end of your life. A very interesting character, and a well played defender. You did SO much better in the Rites than I expected, it blew me away. You fought exactly as a defender should. Fantastic. Good job with him.

Well, I'm infinately sorry to see you go. You were one of the best. I always took village examples from those in Thal's life as Thralkoz, Lohrn, and now you. I remember a famous quote: "With great power comes great responsibility." - Uncle Ben, Spiderman? *grins*. The village has great power, and I only saw a few of you use great responsiblity that came with it. Honor is one of these responsibilities to me. Honor to your foe and to yourself. Honor is not the biggest thing to Thal, but it always has been important. You seemed to put duty and honor together like Thal did, and as I have said to a few villagers, if circumstances were different, we could have been friends. The only time I ever think Thal got real mad at you was when you aided Thralkoz and Shamus is their 3 person bashing against me near Tar Valon. You were willing to listen and reply with a matched tone, hardly ever to the point of raising your voice. Suprisingly unlike most villagers, you never infuriated me. I give you props, kudos, or whatever other expressions I hear about. Well played character, and very well done. Good luck on your next.

Thally, Lord of the Pool

Hey, well played. One of the few Villagers I had any respect for, definately the first in a long while. You definately had alot of heart and kept trucking, no matter how bad things got and that deserves respect. Anyways, good job and I hope you had fun overall with the character, afterall, that is what this game is about.

When I saw Rieger early on, I couldn't imagine someone being insane enough to play a drow swordspec. I was playing a rager and got conned into killing you. Sorry about that.

I watched the character age, and die, and age, and die. I always fealt bad about what you were going through, but I knew you deserved it when you got Thror's tattoo. (The tat that is, not the beating ;p)

Anyhow, even though I killed you with two characters, I respect the player for what you just did. And as a sidenote, I'm overjoyed to see a rager willing to fight it out, and even condie. Superkudos.

It seems everybody around here interprets Thror's religon
as the Path of Masochism. Perhaps there are reasons for,
but still it is not necessary I believe.

For Dwoggurd all ragers fall into one of three categories,
when you plan to fight one of them you:
1) don't bother to prepare or just throw in 'stone skin'
2) have to use full resistances.
3) have to use all protections and haste.

Rieger falls into the first category.

Good thing: you tried hard.
Bad thing: you didn't manage to pull it off.

It is easy to make a character that walks around naked
and dies every time, everybody can do it.
And it is alot harder to make the character who
actually does something constructive despite of
the fact that odds against him.
Would you manage to pull it off I would respect you a lot.
But right now I can respect you only for the attempt,
not for the result.

Sorry we didn't get to have that talk, sounded kind of interesting. Lately I have been having troubles getting time, but hopefully that will change soon to all you who care. Well played, nice little talks we had before.

Why does anyone think it's bad to con die? It's the second
in line for holding onto a character and refusing to go
without a fight. Age death without cowardice is the most
honorable way to go (I'm a coward personally, and I admit
it). Auto-deletion isn't respectable for anyone, and rage
deleting makes it look like you're giving up on the rest
of what the character's career could be.

I didn't even know him, but for being one con death out of
a lot of deletions, I respect him.

I've nothing against con death, but I hate how long it takes to heal with low con, so I usually delete after losing a few points if I cannot replace them.

I agree, but that was one good thing about being a defender, I could field dress myself every other hour, so it only mattered when we didn't have the head. Also, I didn't have that many hp's either.
