Your RP at the outset, and what you were doing towards the end were like night and day. Also, I was admittedly kind of put off at the way you were clearly gunning for Harbinger from day 1. I'm not putting all of the blame for that on you, but to be honest when Hali lost Harbinger and that same day you wind up titled "Elder of the Refuge" when you had been in the cabal less than a week, it was a little whack. I mean, you were still the new guy in the cabal, and you're a titled elder? That raised a lot of eyebrows for people in the cabal, and grated on more than one member.

The Hali/Harbinger/Elder title stuff aside, I never had any issues with you. We worked well together to defend the Refuge, and you never did anything to me personally. I liked you just fine, but the situation Not entirely of your making) revolving around you getting Harbinger really did just make me not exactly comfortable with you either.

It was fun to talk to a fellow Sebeokite, but now I'll have to do the interview thing all over again with yet another Harbinger if I get into the role enough. It was pretty challenging to have an interview with a character that shares exactly the same worldview that you do, what can I do beyond saying 'well said' and nod my head..

You were a bit deeper in the Sebeokite philosophy than I was, and Mutombo has definitely benefited from it. It takes a moment to get into the character after a week or two of not playing, last such moments being the interviews with you and Halistanis as Harbingers.

My vision of this char is pretty biased and skewed so I will keep most of my negative comments to my goodbye thread (or even to myself), and concentrate on good things.

I liked the induction interview. Though later on this RP seems to disappear to nowhere. At least I haven't seen any attempts to RP paranoid marshdweller, eating frogs and such. That was tres cool at the beginning, pity you gave up on that.

I don't think this char's behavour in getting leader position was Outlanderish. I sensed strong OOC influence of experienced imperial in his behavour. Arse-licking and intrigues are not part of the Tree in my humble biased opinion (IMHBO).

I've heard a lot of bad things of him after I left the Tree, from many people, and very little positive things. But again, may be people were telling me what I expected to hear. Because of respect and stuff like that.

In general, I am not too surprised with rage delete. I saw it coming. And expected it to happen soon.

This wasn't really a rage delete. I had just re-equipped and died to Kanaev (who rocks, as you all know... very fun foe) in Arboria. I started running around to re-equip again, and realized that even after I did re-equip, I couldn't think of much fun to do. That, and the fact that I was actually at my job at the time, supposed to be working... delete;delete seemed like the sane thing to do, so I did it. I asked myself several times over the last week if I wanted to reactivate - in good moods and bad, and it never sounded appealing.

Personally, I liked Hal just fine. Outlander was in power in a ridiculous way when I was ranking, and I often got bored. Once I got into hero range, I decided everyone was being too harmonious for a group of wild creatures, except for the occasional mean comment from Raviri, who would go on to become nightbringer. I decided to be an upstart, and it fit with my role. I didn't care if I got booted, so I talked back to you. I got rewarded for it, so I kept going. The further I went, the more favorable response I got. I felt bad, but would you have stopped?

I kept up my original concept for a while. But I sat down to do the math one day, and I racked up something like 100 hours in about 20 days. That's five hours a day for a college student who works full time. And that's way too much time devoted to CF. Some characters are a slow burn. Others are a fast burn. Ghenghir fell into the latter category.

But a major highlight of this character was actually the long, roving, drawn-out stalemate fights we had that had all of the other outlanders shaking their heads and rolling their eyes.

The only outlander I really did any running around with was Raviri, who seemed to die even more than I did. Thanks for the good times.

Final thoughts -

Outlanders - They can be fun, if you don't play them like Fortressites. It's a group of militant, non-conformist anarchists, for god's sake. Even the light and fluffy ones need a feral, dangerous edge to them.

Hunters - They have a tool for almost every situation - which is awesome. You can win every fight, but sealing a kill outside of a ambush-snare-ambush seems to be a matter of great luck on your part or gross incompetence on the other party's part, even with a great deal of finesse. I'd definitely pick a different expertise next time.

Sebeok - That was pretty unexpected and awesome. Thanks for that interaction, and I'm sorry I threw away the opportunity to preach for you. Hopefully Mutombo will carry the torch.

There is a difference between arse-licking and showing respect.

There were no reasons for those people to be nice to me. Not at all. What they are doing they are doing because they like me (I assume), not because I can give something to them for that. This is called 'respect'. When you are acting like that in attempt to gain something from that, it is called 'arse-licking'. That's about it.

And anyways, as I said, I've heard what I've heard. What are the reasons behind that, I don't know.
